La Cenerentola
Opera Buffa di Gioacchino Rossini
semi stage version at Baxter Concert Hall
Director's note
“Shake and quiver, little tree,
Throw gold and silver down to me ”
Cenerentola is Rossini’s best opera and the libretto is just perfect: Genious moments when time stops, descriptions of thoughts in confused brains, typical ensembles that get faster and faster…
Rossini’s figures are rather petty bourgeois: they are hungry, greedy, jealous, hilarious and quite often behind all events. But forever full of good hope and conviction that in the very end they’ll succeed!

Excellence all over! Especially the remarkable singers that make you forget to be in a concert hall.
German director Claudia Blersch has brought every single character to his best. Included a charming spoken part by Alidoro George Stevens that put just more smile on everybodies face. Playful, joyful, hilarious:
A must see in Baxter Concert Hall.
